Who IS She?

Ah Hello!  Thanks a million for dropping by and taking the time to read my blog. I started writing Ouch My Fanny Hurts when pregnant with my first son, because I felt like everyone was lying about how amazing pregnancy is. So amazing, it seems, that I found myself pregnant with my second son when my first was only six months old. AAAAARRRRGH. That pregnancy was a blur, until the last trimester when my son Mikey was diagnosed with Duodenal Atresia and we realised he was very sick indeed. Thankfully, after a rocky first few months, he was right as rain and normal OH-MY-JESUS-HOW-DO-I-DO-THIS-WITHOUT-GOING-MENTAL-ness resumed.

I am a journalist who works from home while the boys climb all over me. Ouch My Fanny Hurst is my therapy, my sanity, and the documentation of a time that I KNOW I will remember little of in years to come. It’s also my eternal love letter to my two boys. I blog when I can, when the mood takes me, and when the boys allow me.

I love hearing from readers, and find it so very satisfying when other mothers feel the same way as I do. My mission, as a parent, is to tell the truth, however ugly it may be. And so, I carry on into the breach!

ps: If you want to talk to me I’d love to hear from you at mcdonnellciara@yahoo.ie

I am now blogging over at Mammy Needs To Do A Wee, so check me out!

Not sure how I found your blog but I think in the haze of being a first time mother I googled ‘my fanny hurts’ as it hurt like mad and still does after having my little boy 9.5 weeks ago. Anyway you are so funny. Can’t wait for each installment. Congrats on the new pregnancy by the way.
